Dopo il successo del primo capitolo, ecco puntuale il sequel del Rhythm più "tamarro" in assoluto, seguito attesissimo dai fan di Dj Hero.
DJ Tiesto alla console:
Questa versione realizzata sempre dai ragazzi di FreeStyleGames, fa leva su un gameplay tipico dei ryhthm game ma incentrato sui classici "piatti" da Disk Jockey: si tratta in pratica di colpire le note muovendo il piatto della consolle verso l'alto o il basso, in più sono presenti anche i tasti per avviare lo Start Power e fare i Remix. Due le novità inserite in Dj Hero 2: come accade ormai in tutte le discoteche, è presente affianco al DJ anche un'altra figura, avete capito quale? Quella della Vocalist! Infatti in DJ Hero 2 sarà possibile tramite un microfono come quelli utilizzati in Guitar Hero (facilmente reperibili singolarmente anche nei centri commerciali e nei centri specializzati, oppure con le cuffie/microfono della Xbox360) assaporare l'avventura di essere un cantante da discoteca; l'altra novità invece riguarda l'utilizzo di una seconda consolle per il gioco in cooperativo, in modo da arrivare fino a 3 giocatori (contando anche il Vocalist) per remixare ogni singola traccia. Ovviamente sono compatibili con DJ Hero 2 anche le consolle del primo capitolo, visto che non sono stati aggiunti tasti o ulteriori funzionalità al gioco.
Remix del ritornello
La parte multiplayer mostra un menu rinnovato e capace di dare al giocatore quell'esperienza che non era stata ben marcata nel prequel. Altre novità sono del tutto marginali e non riguardano da vicino il gameplay, forse perchè il gioco risulta ancora eccitante e piacevole per l'utente finale. In compenso però è stato aggiornato il motore grafico che adesso regala una maggiore sensazione di coinvolgimento, facendoci immergere nel centro della sala da ballo gestendo un vero e proprio mixer, con il pubblico che si esalta (o meno...) in base alla nostra performance. Altra punto interessante è sicuramente il prezzo: dalle nostre informazioni DJ Hero 2 dovrebbe avere un costo più competitivo rispetto all'anno scorso, e con molta probabilità verrà anche rilasciato il package contenente solo la confezione del gioco in DVD/BluRay privo della consolle.

La scelta dei brani musicali risulta più "avventurosa", il che da' una svolta nella track list che comprende al suo interno il ritmo dei singoli MIX. Sono presenti nel gioco brani dei Chemical Brothers, Dr Dre, David Guetta, 2 Pac, Kanye West, Pitbull, The Pussycat Dolls, MSTKFRT ed ovviamente DJ Tiesto, icona di questo DJ Hero 2. Gli artisti scelti per la parte Vocalist delle canzoni sono invece Lady Gaga e Deadmau5, con un accorgimento delle canzoni Just Dance e Ghosts N Stuff che sono le soundtrack che promuovono il gioco nei vari trailer. In totale però Activision ha promesso che saranno presenti più di 85 artisti, in modo da non avere la sensazione di eseguire la stessa ritmica per traccia. Non a caso a variare sarà anche il genere musicale, dato che assieme alla Dance è stato incluso anche l' hip hop, capace di diversificare l'intera soundtrack.
